Most recently, Clarkson’s responsibilities included the firm’s sister division New England Systems and Solutions, LLC (NESS), which provides accounting and fundraising software and training for not-for-profit organizations. Clarkson first joined the firm in 1993 following his graduation from Northeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. As part of his undergraduate training, he completed various co-operative programs through the university, two of which he spent with Needel, Welch & Stone in the Winters of 1992 and 1993.

He was promoted through the ranks from staff accountant to supervisor in the accounting and auditing department. In 2000 he took the lead in launching the NESS division. He has been active in the not-for-profit accounting software circles, attending numerous seminars throughout the United States.

Clarkson was born in Stoughton, MA and currently resides in Abington, MA. His family includes his wife Lynne, sons Nick and Thomas, and daughter Rachel. He is active in a number of community events; he serves; he serves on the Abington Little League Board of Directors while coaching his sons’ Little League, and Summertime All Star team, as well as both his sons’ and daughter’s youth basketball teams in the Winter.

He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs and the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
