Needel, Welch & Stone Raises $5,000 to Support Friendship Home
Shareholders, employees and clients hold fundraiser at Timber Lanes Bowling

ROCKLAND AND HINGHAM, MA, ISSUED JANUARY 10, 2007...Principals of Needel, Welch & Stone, P.C., a CPA firm located in Rockland that has been serving the needs of businesses and individuals for more than 40 years, recently presented a check for more than $5,000 to Friendship Home, Inc. a Norwell-based organization that provides quality respite care services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Shareholders and employees of Needel, Welch & Stone and their families participated in the fundraising event at Timber Lanes Bowling in Abington, raising more than $5,000. In addition to the actual fundraiser, clients of the CPA firm generously contributed to the cause.

The mission of Friendship Home, Inc. is to provide quality respite care services in a caring environment to individuals with developmental disabilities, in order to improve their lives and the lives of their families.  Its primary goal is construction of a eight-bedroom duplex respite home on a portion of property owned by the United Church of Christ in Norwell, that will enable individuals to stay overnight for a short term and in so doing allow them an opportunity to make new friends in a safe, caring and nurturing environment while providing their caregivers brief respite from their daily responsibilities.

Currently, an estimated 1,900 individuals age 18 and older live with their families in Friendship Home’s service area (from Milton to and including Cape Cod and surrounding communities).  Respite care has been identified as the number one request of families caring for a developmentally disabled loved one.

“We reached out to our clients and employees to help with this very successful event,” said Kevin White, Managing Principal at Needel, Welch & Stone. “It was a very rewarding experience and we are honored to contribute to the Friendship Home’s worthy cause and its continued success.” He continued, “Raising this amount of money would not have been possible without the very generous efforts from our clients, as well as the contributions of families and friends of our employees.”
