Principal - Director of Tax Services
Professional Background
Jim is a Shareholder and Principal of Needel, Welch & Stone, P.C. and directs the Tax Department. In this capacity, he oversees the corporate, partnership and individual tax practices focusing on planning, transaction analysis and compliance. Jim has a great deal of experience in corporate, partnership and individual taxation at both the federal and state levels, covering a variety of industries, including manufacturing, multi-location retail, real estate and distributors. Jim also works closely with owners/managers on tax and estate planning.
Jim previously taught mathematics and coached football for nine years in the Rockland and Plymouth-Carver school systems. He was also employed for over four years by the Boston office of KPMG Peat Marwick, where he obtained both audit and tax experience and reached the position of tax manager.
