Needel, Welch & Stone, P.C. and our individual professionals are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and, as a result, are permitted to report on the financial statements of others. The liscensure requirements are stringent and adherence to professional standards and ethics rules regarding independence and objectivity are mandatory.
Needel, Welch & Stone, P.C. was a leader in Massachusetts in establishing audit and accounting quality control procedures, and voluntarily undertook a "peer review" of our Audit and Accounting practice in 1981. Peer review became mandatory for the profession in 1989. We have successfully completed seven peer reviews. Click here to view our most recent report.
In these times of increased scrutiny of financial reporting practices and more complex accounting pronouncements, we work with our clients to provide meaningful financial statement display, proper accounting treatments and appropriate disclosures.
We understand the need for an efficient approach to audit and accounting services. A thorough understanding of business operations and planning with management are key. We strive to avoid "reinventing the wheel" and use available information and analysis. In most instances, we receive information electronically and use technology to streamline the process.
Our audit and accounting professionals can provide assistance with the following:
- Audits of financial statements
- Review and compilation of financial statements
- Employee Benefit Plan audits
- Selection of appropriate accounting principles and accounting changes, including conversion to LIFO inventory method
- Special accounting projects and analysis
